Dr. VanderBeek’s Charity Highlight – 100 Men Club
Our Dr. Michael VanderBeek is proud to give back to his community through the 100 Men Club, whose mission is to get 100 men to donate $100 each to a different charity of the club’s choice each quarter. The 100 Men Club, with which Dr. VanderBeek is a Steering Team member, was formed in December 2016. It has since grown quickly to 105 members and handed out its second check in 2017 last month at the Black Finn Ameripub in Royal Oak, MI.
Each quarter, club members such as Dr. VanderBeek have the option of pitching for a charity of their choice to receive a donation. Three charity names are selected at random and members who have their charity name selected make their best pitch to the entire 100 Men Club group, who then vote by placing stone into the selected charity buckets. The organization with the most stones in its bucket receives the donation.
The charities that were voted on by the 100 Men Club last month include Bloomfield SCAMP – a program that provides transportation for special needs children in Oakland County to summer programs, Dynamic Kids – a start-up organization focused on educational needs for special needs children, and Shades of Pink Foundation – which provides help for women undergoing breast cancer treatment with financial assistance for non-medical bills.
With such donations and meaningful cause, the club has gained some press, which you can check out below:
