No one loves going to the dentist, but Dr. Silva and his staff made the experience a truly pain free experience. I had a crown replaced and another tooth got a new crown. My 5 year old son and I had our first dental appointment for a routine cleaning. The staff and doctor was absolutely amazing, kind, patient, caring, and friendly. More than exceeded my expectations. I was really nervous about going because we loved our last dental office. We could no longer attend due to change in insurance. I was also a little nervous about my son not being with me but I could hear him and I could hear how well the staff was taking care of him. They were so kind and patient with him. They also did a lot of different things (more advanced) that made me feel comfortable as I was getting my teeth cleaned. I'm so happy the switch was as easy as it was. I had a terrible experience at Corner Dental in Maumee, where they placed a crown in my tooth that fell out 10 times. I called them to see if they could put it back in, and they told me I would have to go 4 weeks without a tooth before they could get me in! I called Merit Dental and they could see me THAT day. I am a retired dentist who founded this practice. I left the practice in April 2022. Dr. Silva has become my new dentist and I am very happy. He has provided several advanced procedures for me. He is gentle and provides a high level of skill. He uses new technology including digital scanning instead of traditional impressions, artificial intelligence for shade matching and x-ray diagnosis, and has an advanced x-ray machine, CBCT, in which he is able to see three dimensional diagnostic images when indicated in addition to the conventional two dimensional x-ray images taken more routinely. He attends to detail ( important), and displays a high level of diagnostic and procedural skill. I recommend him and his staff very highly.

I had had a veneer put on my front tooth years ago, due to a broken tooth. As the years passed my other teeth darkened. In pictures I looked like White Fang. Embarrassing to smile or have pictures taken. Merit dental & Dr Silva became my dentist, when my dentist retired. I mentioned this to Dr. Silva, I told him whitening products were of no help. So he had the bright idea of replacing the veneer with a darker color veneer and they would match. So he did and it made a world of difference. Thank you Dr Silva, you are amazing. On a Sunday afternoon i chipped my tooth. Monday morning i called Dr Valo's ofc and explained my problem. i got an appt for that afternoon and instructions on what to do when arrived for my appt. i had my temp taken and filled out questionaire in the parking lot. wearing my mask i followed his receptionist, Cheryl, inside and waited for my appt. Dr Valo came and had me follow him back to the room where he assessed my tooth and told me what he hoped to do to fix it. he and his asistant where wearing their protection, i had goggles on, and he proceeded to work on my tooth. within about a1/2 hour the procedure was a success and it looks great. i went from chipped tooth to brand new in less than 24h; it made my day. i greatly appreciate getting in quickly, the preventative measures taken to make my visit safe for all of us, and the courtesy and friendliness of Dr Valo and his staff.
