I love coming here. I always have a great experience. I had to switch doctors due to a change in my schedule. They made sure I was aware that changing my days would affect who my dentist would be and made sure I was comfortable with that change. They take a preventative approach and make sure you are aware of the state of your dental health and help you make a plan to avoid issues coming up later. I've never encountered someone whom I didn't have a good interaction with at this office. Would highly recommend!

I was worked in as an emergency visit and I could not be more pleased with the treatment I received. All the way from the receptionist that answered the phone and scheduled me, to the assistant that roomed me , took the history of the need for the visit and made sure to get the appropriate xrays to identify the issue to Dr Baker. They all listened carefully to my explanation of the type of pain I was having and narrowing it down to one specific tooth. She discussed my treatment plan with me and offered multiple treatment options. Gave a prescription for antibiotics asked if I was able to manage the pain with OTC meds, answered all of my questions and concerns. I was told of my copay for the upcoming procedure and scheduled to return before I even left the room. This office and staff and extremely efficient, knowledgeable and considerate.
While eating an apple a crown on one of my rear teeth that had been in place for several years came off. I called Dr. Ellefson’s office and within an hour the crown was back in place

My family and I have been going to Merit Dental for approximately 10 years and I have to say, we loved them from the start. They came recommended by my co-worker and I’ll tell you, they were and still are the right fit for my family and I. I had a fear of dentist from a previous experience and had stopped going for many years. Well, they got my teeth together and eased my fears and I haven’t looked back since. My kids who are not kids anymore loved them then and continue to love them to this day. I highly recommend there services to anyone looking for a dentist. My only suggestion as an ex insurance agent, is to ensure they take your insurance prior to booking you an appointment. Another great appointment down! I really need to get my new hygienist name programmed in my head because I love her! She is so gentle with my cleanings and keep me on point.

My wife and I had appointments at the same time. Both our Dental Assistants and Dentist did a great job. Called them at 10AM, a crown chipped, and they took care of it by Noon. It was basically intact and after we talked about it, he ground the edges down to smooth it out. I'm Happy!

The other day, I had another enjoyable visit at Merit Dental in Kettering. Layne was upbeat and great with teeth cleaning, and gave me some very helpful suggestions for home care. Dr. Baker was both cheery and supportive. I have been coming to this practice for a little while now, after a self-imposed dental care sabbatical. Never once have the folks here allowed me to feel badly about not keeping up with things. Rather, they have gotten me back on board with dental care.

Both my parents are patients of Dr. Baker. They speak limited English so I always worry about them when they go to medical appointments without me. My dad has been back and forth to this office for a problem tooth and each time, he raves about how well the staff treats him. It warms my heart to hear that they try their best to communicate with him and treat him well. I’ve also always experienced wonderful service when calling for appointments and questions. Dr. Ellefson is absolutely the best most caring dentist. I had a bad cavity with an exposed nerve that hurt so bad I couldn't sleep at nights. I had tried to call every oral surgeon in the Dayton area to pull my tooth and couldn't get in for weeks. I made an appointment for Dr. Ellefson who squeezed me in for a consultation on a Friday afternoon. He saw the pain I was in, he gave me options and in between other patients he pulled my tooth when nobody else would. He really cares about you as a person and it shows everytime I see him
I went for my first visit last week and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and their equipment was modern. My previous dentist retired and Merit has an office close to home for me. It was such a positive experience that I look forward to my next visit.
I had to have both bottom wisdom teeth pulled and a filling on the same day. Dr Erik Ellefson was wonderful. I was very nervous about my wisdom teeth being pulling but they told me everything that they were doing before and during procedure. It went fast. The staff their are very friendly. I have had almost every dental procedure there is, jaw surgery, fillings, braces, extractions, root canals etc. but I also haven’t been to a dentist in 19 years because of bad experiences from aforementioned procedures. But I had to go, I had a pretty bad infection in the root of a molar and anti biopics weren’t helping. 1. They got me in that day. Big plus. 2. I had to wait a little but they also took Covid precautions very seriously which I appreciate and expect from a medical facility. 3. Most importantly Dr. Ellefson was not only “friendly” but he had an adult conversation with me about what was wrong and what my options were. I felt comfortable and well informed. I was not lectured or talked at or down to. He was considerate of my anxieties and specifically discussed what they could do to alleviate my fear. It was clean and professional but more importantly they treat patients like people with feelings and emotions not like cattle with insurance. Oh and the prices were fair and reasonable. I may update to 5 stars. I’m having 2 molars extracted next week and I’ll update after we see how that goes. But highly recommend.
Dr. Ellefson and his entire staff show so much compassion and professionalism. Hands down the best in the Miami Valley.
They were great, let me know my options of treatment with pricing, and postponed their lunch to fix me. I really appreciated it. They walked me through each step of the treatment calmly and patiently. I was really uncomfortable when my tooth broke and feel so much better now.
The receptionist, Jade, was very helpful and liked my Super Mario Bros shirt. My hygienist and Dr. Ellison did a stellar job with everything else. And I got free floss. Been going here for decades, they're the best
Very friendly and competent staff. My dentist was professional and knowledgeable, but wasn’t overly pushy in trying to “sell” a procedure (as I have experienced with other dentists). The office was exceptionally clean and comfortable. They follow proper Covid precautions with care.
Great experience. Every body I met was professional. And the biggest thing for me was they actually did what I wanted and pain free. Never has a dentist done want I asked. Great job guy's
The environment is comfortable and the staff is friendly. It is easy to schedule appointments and get in touch with staff if I have any questions.
Dr Ellefson and his staff are fantastic. He's been our dentist for many years. Dr Ellefson is so gentle and kind with children. I'd highly recommend this practice!

Five stars for the staff, but i do not support the policies of the new ownership at all!!! They want to charge us a 12.00 PPE charge per visit! Do they not think that we might also have extra exspense pertaining to the crisis!

The staff was very friendly and professional. I had an unexpected dental situation that needed attention right away and Dr Neely was very accommodating and worked me in right away. The hygienist, Mrs. Zingle, made me feel at ease and did an exceptional job. I have attended 2 other dental offices in the past and they can't come close to Merit dental.
I’ll tell you up front I don’t like going to the dentist but the staff at Merit made me feel comfortable and relaxed. I would highly recommend them .
I needed an urgent appointment but didn’t have a family dentist. They got me in very quickly even though i was turned away from several other dentists due to COVID-19. They were nothing but amazing! 10/10 would recommend!

I had Jen clean my teeth for the first time and she used a different instrument. My experience was exceptional... the quickest and least painful teeth cleaning I have ever had!!! I have been telling everyone how fabulous her new instrument is!

I recently visited Merit Dental in Kettering to have work done on my two front teeth. One of them was chipped on two sides, two old fillings needed replaced and something done with a bad stain on one of the teeth. Dr. Tammy Baker and her expert assistant(sorry, didn't catch her name, but she had a great smile) took the time to do the very best they could to give me my smile back. When they were finished and I looked at my teeth in the mirror, I was utterly shocked at how great my teeth looked! I never thought they could look this good again! Broke a crown had to have old tooth extracted on my second day no pain med no pain extraction itself piece of cake had to be careful eating until local wore off eating normally today waiting for healing process to do next step. Great experience given the nature

Dr. Eric Ellefson is a life line for me. I mean literally, I don't know what I would do without him. Debbie the hygienist, is top notch in my opinion. I would have to look long and hard to find such care and compassion.
