My first visit here was great, when I called them back 15 days ago trying to get an ASAP appointment because a temp crown had cracked and fallen off, they denied me any appointments. I don't owe them any money or anything. They just said they can't help me. This is just a bad dental practice, say they accept new patient, then don't have the time to help them at all. I will never go back to this strongsville location, or any merit dental location again. They don't care about their patients.

After seeing the same dentist for years, I had to find a new one due to insurance changes. I went to Merit and they insisted I needed an expensive cleaning instead of a regular one (even though insurance probably wouldn't cover it) and found 3 cavities...I was surprised since I regularly go to the dentist and have never needed more than a basic cleaning and did not have any cavities 6 months ago at my last appointment. I declined the expensive cleaning and asked for a regular cleaning instead of, but they refused, so I left. Then, they called me back the next day and told me they would let me come back and make an appointment for a regular basic cleaning now. Instead, I went for a second opinion elsewhere and they found ZERO cavities and said my normal basic cleaning was all that was needed. Be very careful of this place, upon searching I have found other reviews with similar stories. Thank goodness I went for a second opinion elsewhere and found an honest dentist/practice.

Merit Dental employs the most caring staff, from the recepionists to the person who cleans my teeth, they all take pride in their jobs and are so nice. Going to the dentist, obviously is not the most pleasant experience. However, everyone who works there truly does their best to make you feel comfortable. My dentist is a perfectionist, and that is definitely what I want when having dental work done. I appreciate the extra effort on everyone's part to make sure everything they can do to make my experience the best possible is done.

I'D TURN BACK IF I WERE YOU! Seriously, I went there with a problem tooth and she referred me to an endodontist saying that they had much better imaging equipment, something like a cat scan. Well all they have is an x-ray very much like her's and had no idea what she was talking about. So WHY did she say that to me? I guess I'll never know and at this point couldn't care less. I even tried going back to get my teeth cleaned. That was a mistake. I will never go back even if that means every tooth I have rotting out of my head. I have never been so disappointed in a dental practice in my life. I'm worse off now with having a root canal that didn't help, my pain is way up (days and days later) and I'm out a bunch of money from my insurance and my pocket. Literally, Go There At Your Own Risk!

I’ve rarely had a good experience at the dentist and it’s normally something that I dread. But I can genuinely say that visiting Merit Dental was the nicest, easiest, most comfortable visit to a dentist’s office that I have ever had. Every single person that I interacted was incredibly caring and comforting. They got me in same day for a very painful toothache and did everything they could that day to help me feel better. The reception staff was amazing, and you can tell that everyone from the reception staff to the dentist herself cares about the experience that each patient receives. Even though going to the dentist can cause an extreme amount of anxiety, she did an amazing job at explaining to me what was happening, which majorly decreased the amount of anxiety that I had. I will be using this office for my dental needs for the foreseeable future, as well as recommending it to anyone I know that is in need of dental care.

We were long-term Clients of five points dentistry, and then they switched to Merit dental. They recently billed me for a procedure that took place over two years ago when Covid was going on. I have outstanding insurance that covers our dentistry and I always pay it off in full anything that is over. My husband was told we were 100 percent caught up and would not owe anything. Then, we got this late bill again. They then said they could negotiate. My husband paid half for a totally bogus charge. Let’s see if they do the right thing and refund this. Otherwise, I would stay clear of this practice and their very poor bookkeeper. If I could give them a zero star I would!

First off, they billed me for something that was literally 3 years ago. I'm not kidding. I can't make this up nor am I the person to say bad things until it's completely out of line like this place. In person they told me I was all payed up. Hard to prove bc it's my word agisnt their word. Secondly, the good reviews you see are mostly from the previous 5 points density which did a much greater job all around. The customer service her is at its worst the lady on the phone was rude. If I could have this company shut down, I would. Absolutely horrible or learn the hard way like I did.

This place is completely inept when it comes to billing practices. My family hasn’t been patients for a couple of years and we randomly have received two bills in the mail. They don’t say for who, what or when. When I called, I was told they missed the claim submitted and that we wouldn’t be responsible (well duh, you only have so long to bill claims before the dental insurance rejects it). I’ve actually called the Ohio Attorney Generals office as I’m concerned about their business practices. Please avoid! There are plenty of other practices nearby that are not run by corporate dental companies.

If I could leave less than a one star rating I would.....I would not recommend Merit dental in Strongsville to anyone. Aside from them cancelling my cleaning and telling me "to call back in a few months" because they had no hygienst, I called twice about a bill I was questioning after paying in full in the office and was told they would call me back if the bill needed to be paid. I never received a phone call, or another bill, and they sent a $300 bill to collections!! This is absurd. Terrible office management and terrible customer service. I would stay far away from this one. My tenure here was very short for obvious reasons. Middleburg Heights Family denistry was an absolute breat of fresh air.

I have been coming to this office for many years. This place used to be amazing. When the ownership changed a year ago, the place went bad fast. The desk staff is rude, and scheduling an appointment was done with eye rolls when i asked for a different day, and a rudely stated answer to another simple question. The hygenists are okay, but the general feel in the office went from obviously satisfied staff with good attitudes to staff just there to get a pay check. Gone are the pleasantries and kindness. Go somwhere else.

Merit Dental is undergoing a lot of personnel changes. The new dentists leave a lot to be desired. I was blindsided at my appt today when my dentist refused to give me my Invisaligners unless I agreed to another very expensive procedure. I said that I would be happy to schedule the procedure in 2 months when my Invisaligner program was over. Although I have paid for the Invisaligners in full and the former dentists I saw were in agreement with my treatment the new dentist refused to give me the Invisaligners. Totally unprofessional. I was warned about the new female dentist before I even saw her several weeks ago. I will not return to this office.

I have been coming here for many many years. Dr Thomas has been outstanding, but more importantly, stands behind his work. I'm the type of person w the odds against me if in a situation where something could go either way. With my last root canal, he was a man of his word and did right by me. You usually don't come across this type of loyalty with anyone in the medical field honoring this type of character. Another highpoint is the one stop crown installment as opposed to return appts for fittings and temporaries. The staff is ever so nice and happy to see you walk in. I always look forward to the paraffin wax hand bath, the warm neckroll, and enjoy watching a movie during a long treatment. It keeps your mind off of what is going on. Being a nurse with experience you get to recognize and admire the skill sets of others and how they interact with each other and build on their skill levels the precision and attention to details is remarkable all the while attending to your comfort. Frequent check ups is key to keeping a smile into your old age (there I said it) I have to work at my smile with prevention intervention on my part and they take care of the rest from crowns, to root canals it's all there.

No taking molds and waiting for the crown to be made and shipped back only to have to come back at another time. They mill the crown specific for you in office...only a couple of hours of your time!

I used to be petrified of going to the dentist, as I had a dentist who used no novocain for small or large cavities and I also had a lot of orthodontic and oral surgeries. I now look forward to going to the dentist thanks to this wonderful staff at Five Points! They are all so personable, gentle yet very efficient and professional. They are up front about costs and procedures and seem to genuinely care about every patient. Their exams are extremely thorough (oral cancer, etc.) And the water system they use for cleaning your teeth--the best thing since sliced bread! They have all of the latest and greatest tools that make all of the difference. They even offer free water and juices while you wait and offer a heated neck pillow while they work on you! Hi praises for Five Points!
